Here's a sobering, yet challenging thought. If we really know--I mean intimately, by revelation, like Peter in that moment--and, as a result, are really preaching the Christ who IS the Resurrection and the Life, then that same Power (Person) will be "...working with and confirming the Word with signs--infallible proofs, testimonies and conspicuous demonstrations--following. Amen" (Mark 16:20)!  That's the WAY--pun intended--God set it up! After all, isn't that exactly what happened shortly after Jesus declared this Truth to Martha?  Keeping the context in mind, the interaction between Jesus and Martha is primarily concerned with and necessarily precedes Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead!  Jesus lives--and operates in and from--the eternal Truth of who HE IS!  He declared who HE IS (pardon the breach of grammar; true agreement requires our connection to these matters in the present tense), not what was going to happen!  There's a lesson in here for all of us!  What happened, however--Lazarus' resurrection--happened because of who HE IS (John 11:25-26)!  He IS the resurrection!  This is the point He was trying to get across to Martha.  Her answer in John 11:27 suggests she really didn't "get" it!  Saints of God, please hear me because we must "get" it NOW!  He's ALWAYS ready, willing and able to BE who HE IS! Glory to God!  The resurrection & the Life (ZOE) is NOT an event; HE is a Person!  God bless us as we learn and grow.

Fundamentally, true biblical authority (exousia) and power (dunamis) flow forth from--have their origin in--right-standing, or righteousness. Romans 5:21 is talking about reigning in and through ZOE (the indestructible, eternal life of God-- Heb 7:16 [AMP]) by  the Agent or Person of Right-Standing, Jesus the Christ!! Selah! If we continue to think of "life" when we read it here as nothing more than the day-to-day course of natural events and circumstances, then we'll continue to miss a powerful truth God provided to ENABLE us to live supernatural lives. Successfully "reigning in ZOE" is tied ever so closely to a vibrant, ever-increasing revelation of our present & eternal union with the Prince of Life (ZOE). He, as God's New Covenant prototype for the offices of Lord, King & High Priest, is the model after which we're to pattern ourselves, for "...as He is, so are we here in the earth (1John 4:17b)." We can mentally assent to everything Jesus is and yet, operationally, fail to embrace the "...so are we here in the earth" piece!

Saints of God, one ENABLES  the other: the truth about who Jesus is now is the divine basis for who you are now--in Him! If we're going to reign like Him, we're going to have to live--habitually abide--in ZOE  like Him! I'm not addressing a legal issue here folks; it's a mindset change--and our willingness to make the change--that' s being addressed here! Jesus isn't resisting or disagreeing with this Truth; neither can you! You'll never operate like Jesus did seeing yourself apart from Him and, as a result, resisting what the Father did for you in Him! In true humility, Jesus accepts and operates in the place of honor--and all of the authority and power associated with it--bestowed  upon Him by the Father. What passes ever so subtly as "humility" among too many Christians these days is, in effect, nothing short of rebellion and dishonor! True biblical humility accepts, embraces, declares and operates in the new, indestructible, eternal life and nature of God bestowed upon us in the new birth! I can hear Paul now reaffirming once again the mystery now made manifest of "...Christ in YOU , the hope of glory!!" That's right...the Christ that Paul said is the "...fullness of the Godhead bodily" is the same Christ John said was full of "life" (John 1:4)! Paul's admonition to "put on the new man which after God  is created in righteousness and true holiness" relies on the same scriptural truth uttered by John when he said "...as He is, so are we here in the earth!" Saints of God, reign freely and fully today in and by the divine agency of the Resurrected Christ!
